Coronavirus sequenced by the team led by Prof. Dr. Gizem Dinler Doğanay of İTÜ​ MBG Dept.

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Gizem Dinler Doğanay from ITÜ MBG Molecular Biology and Genetics Department, the research team at the Advanced Genetic Analysis Laboratory (GLAB), sequenced the virus genome from a patient’s sample in Istanbul.
 
The Advanced Genetic Analysis Laboratory (GLAB) is a joint Research and Molecular Diagnosis Center of ITÜ, Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital and Provincial Health Directorate.

The team led by Prof. Dr. Gizem Dinler Doğanay of ITÜ MBG and GLAB Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Levent Doğanay, of Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital, succeeded in sequencing the virus sample.

The virus genome was registered in the international GISAID database.
